Basics Step 1 of 6

Step 1 of 6

Let's set up your profile.

This builder has 6 steps. Step 1 takes under 2 minutes.

About you

Your location and timezone help us match you with families in the right time window, directly affecting how many opportunities come your way.

When can you teach?

Our students are in the United States, so these are the only hours we can book. Times below are on your clock, from the timezone you chose above.

Choose at least one

We are not asking you to be free for all of them. One is enough to apply.

Current commitments

Being upfront here helps us find the best-fit opportunities for your schedule. Tutors who are clear about their availability get better long-term matches.

Step 2 of 6

Tell us what you're great at.

List the subjects and grade levels you're comfortable teaching. This is what we match you against.

1 What you teach

Subjects and student fit

Add only the subjects you can confidently teach in a live class. This helps us find stronger, longer-lasting matches.

Choose the subject you most want to be assessed and hired for. You can change it after shortlisting until your teaching assessment starts.

2 Who you teach

Languages and student experience

Tell us which families and school systems you have supported. Choose one of the US K-12 options if it applies to you.

3 Availability fit

Hours and formats

Small group sessions and trial classes are in especially high demand right now. The more you can offer, the broader your match pool.

Step 3 of 6

Let your qualifications speak for themselves.

Add your degrees, certifications, and any relevant training.

Resume / CV

Your resume gives reviewers the full picture of your background.

PDF, Word, JPG, or PNG. Text files parse fastest; clear scans and photos are read using OCR.

Expected hourly rate

Tell us the hourly rate you would be comfortable accepting. Ruvimo reviews this alongside subject, grade, experience, and opportunity requirements; any confirmed rate is shared before you accept work.

Other platforms you've taught on (optional)

Qualifications

Degrees and diplomas that show your academic background. At least one required.

Certifications (optional, shows depth of training)

Teaching licenses, test-prep certs, short courses, and online training all count. Add as many as you have.

Step 4 of 6

Tell us how you teach.

Write this in your own words, first person, the way you would explain it to a colleague. We edit it into your public profile later, so it does not need to be polished.

Public families can see this on your profile. Review team only stays internal to Ruvimo.

A student success story

One required. Describe a real outcome you saw with a student. This helps reviewers assess your teaching impact.

Client reviews: builds family trust instantly

A real parent or student review helps reviewers see how families experience your teaching. Copy from WhatsApp, email, or any message you have.

Step 5 of 6

Show families how you teach.

Add a clear profile photo, a short family introduction, and one teaching sample. These are the most useful parts of your profile for review and matching.

Three things that get a video sent back
  • No students on camera. Teach to the camera as if a student were there. A child visible in frame means we have to ask for a re-record.
  • No other company's name or logo. Check your background, slides, whiteboard and virtual background for another platform's branding.
  • Dress and set up as you would for a real class. Tidy background, face lit from the front, camera at eye level.

Cannot record on this device?

Your photos 1 photo required

Families choose tutors they feel comfortable with. A clear, friendly photo is required to continue. The rest are optional but lift your match rate.

Visual teaching setup

Tell us what you use to write or annotate during a session. This is about your setup, not a requirement, and it helps us judge which sessions suit you.

Family pitch video

A short intro that helps families understand your teaching style. Upload or record in browser. Anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Focus on how you teach; do not mention your city, country, phone number, or email address.

How would you like to add it?
Not sure what to say? Here is a structure that works
  1. First 15 seconds. Your name, the subjects you teach, and the grades you teach them to.
  2. Next 30 seconds. One specific thing you do when a student is stuck. Not "I am patient" but what patience actually looks like in your session.
  3. Next 30 seconds. One student you helped, and what changed for them.
  4. Last 15 seconds. Why you want to teach these students.

Talking to the camera as though a parent is on the other side works better than reading. Nobody expects editing or a studio.

Already have something between 30 seconds and 2 minutes on your phone or computer? Use it. Most tutors do. Anything longer is turned away the moment you pick it, so trim it first or record here instead. If you record here later, the newest choice replaces this upload.

Teaching sample video

Pick a topic, then record yourself teaching it the way you would to a student. This is a required part of your application and one of the strongest signals reviewers look at. Anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes, long enough to show real teaching without being a whole lesson.

This one has to be recorded here. There is no file upload for the teaching sample, because a recording made on this page is the only kind we can tell apart from a video made by someone else. If this device will not record, use the link below to carry on from your phone. You do not need to start again.

Choose your topic
Not sure what to say? Here is a structure that works
  1. First 15 seconds. Name the concept and the grade you are teaching it to.
  2. Next 45 seconds. Ask what a student would already know before this, the way you would open a real session.
  3. Next 90 seconds. Explain it once, simply, with one example. Show your working rather than describing it.
  4. Next 60 seconds. Give the student something to try on their own, and say what you would watch for.
  5. Last 30 seconds. Sum it up in one sentence.

Pick a concept you have taught many times rather than the hardest one you know. Teaching one thing clearly reads better than covering a lot.

Your current draft will be saved before the preview opens.

    What happens after you submit

    1. Profile review (2-3 business days) → 2. Interview and/or recorded teaching round, we'll tell you which → 3. Approval, rate confirmation, and matching to students.

If you're updating an already-reviewed profile, your edits only take effect once you submit and our team reviews them again, not before.
